Welcome to Charlie Chatter!

This 2016, through it's ups and downs has been unbelievably special and there have been so many things that I have really enjoyed watching, reading, using and listening to. I thought that today as a small quickie on Jan 1st of 2017 (wow it feel's so strange to just say that) I would share the best of 2016, in my opinion. Sit back, relax and prepare to do some heavy online shopping!

1. The Sneaker Comeback and Everything Over-sized

Although I don't know if these trends will last, I adored the fashion comeback of sneakers! Despite being a more boot or heel kind of girl, I couldn't help but fall in love again with sneakers and have already bought myself a couple of pairs from Zara! A special shout-out to these delicious white lace-ups which are now on sale, and also these velvet sneakers also at Zara.com. Not only have I enjoyed indulging in sneakers, but I also have decided that I am a 100% supporter of over-sized tops and jumpers! Being small anyway, most things already look over-sized on me, but finally getting to wrap myself in large cozy sweatshirts and coats has been well worth the wait. Anyone else with me?

2. Stranger Things

Boy did I love that show! The American TV series by the Duffer Brothers was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I absolutely loved every second of it, although it had me scared as heck. Millie Bobby Brown is fabulous in this new series on Netflix and guess what? They're making a Season 2 scheduled for July 2017 (yay!) I completely recommend this to you, even if you're easily scared like me. I loved every moment of it and ship Mike and Eleven all the way. Go ahead and watch Stranger Things right now, before I tell you any spoilers...

3. Going Retro with the Instax Mini 8

Uploading photos from cameras is always a bore, which is exactly why I splashed the cash on a baby-blue Polaroid this year and I have not regretted on moment of it. Getting instant pictures of days out with friends and family dun, has been so handy and the fact that they were cool and cute at the same time was great. Although the phase is already getting a little old now, I can't say that my Polaroid won't appear in 2017...

4. Glittery Nails

As a kid, I'm sure I'm not a lone when I say that wearing nail varnish for the first time was almost like a ritual of becoming a women. Even after my nails became chipped and cracked and my left hand was messy and peeling, wearing nail polish was fun in itself and the ones that glittered and shone were always my favorite. Now that metallic and glitter nail polish are back in fashion, I have had more than one trip down to Top-shop and Urban Outfitters to splurge on some new nails. They do say that not all that glitters is gold, but this has been one of the highlights of my 2017!

5. It may seem a bit weird but..

Planet Earth II came out this 2016 and although it's a bit random, this wildlife show is possibly the most calming thing, I've ever seen. The cute pictures of animals with classic BBC music on a Saturday afternoon with a nice mug of tea, is the nicest thing. The show took a crazy 4 years to make (woahhh) and has me hooked. If you're someone like me, who can often find everything can be a little stressful then R-E-L-A-X with this typically British wild-life program. I just love it!
